Ingredients:
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs (or crushed digestive biscuits)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted (divided)
- 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup (or honey)
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
- 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Prepare the crust: Mix the graham cracker crumbs with 1/2 cup melted butter. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking dish.
- Cook the caramel: In a medium saucepan, combine condensed milk, brown sugar, corn syrup, and the remaining 1/2 cup butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the caramel thickens and turns a golden brown (about 8–10 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.
- Layer it up: Pour the caramel evenly over the crust.
- Add the chocolate & nuts: Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the hot caramel. Allow them to melt for a minute, then spread into a smooth layer. Top with chopped nuts.
- Chill & cut: Refrigerate for 2–3 hours, or until set. Cut into bars and serve.
Storage Tips:
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For longer freshness, refrigerate for up to 1 week.
🔥 Pro Tip: For extra indulgence, drizzle some melted white chocolate on top before chilling.
