Fluffy Egg-Free Scones Recipe 🥐

🥐 Scones Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 10 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 10 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups amasi (fermented milk / buttermilk)
  • 500 g margarine (Rama or Woodenspoon)
  • Optional: 1 cup vanilla custard
  • No eggs (since some clients don’t consume eggs)

Method:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and baking powder.
  2. Add the margarine and rub it into the dry ingredients until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
  3. Pour in the amasi (and vanilla custard if using), then mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to medium thickness. Cut into rounds using a glass or cutter.
  5. Arrange the rounds on a greased or lined baking tray.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 20–25 minutes, until golden and risen.

They come out soft, fluffy, and perfect with tea or coffee. ☕✨
