🥐 Scones Recipe
Ingredients:
- 10 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 10 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 cups amasi (fermented milk / buttermilk)
- 500 g margarine (Rama or Woodenspoon)
- Optional: 1 cup vanilla custard
- No eggs (since some clients don’t consume eggs)
Method:
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and baking powder.
- Add the margarine and rub it into the dry ingredients until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
- Pour in the amasi (and vanilla custard if using), then mix until a soft dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to medium thickness. Cut into rounds using a glass or cutter.
- Arrange the rounds on a greased or lined baking tray.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 20–25 minutes, until golden and risen.
They come out soft, fluffy, and perfect with tea or coffee. ☕✨
